for a little configuration leeway we can confirm that shuttle are to
offer its X50 (specifically known as the PC X 5000TA) in a barebones,
user configurable format.
According to shuttle's press release, the barebones Shuttle X50, which
comes with Intel Atom 330 dual-core processor under the hood as well as
a 16:9 aspect ratio 15.6 touchscreen boasting 1366 x 768, will be
offered sans hard disk or RAM with purchasers having the option of
kitting out their X50 with various HDD and SSD options as well as
between 512MB and 2GB RAM.
The market introduction of the X50 Barebone has enabled customers to
adapt Shuttle's All-in-One-PC even more flexibly to their own
requirements, says Tom Seiffert, Head of Marketing PR at Shuttle
Computer Handels GmbH. For sophisticated technical users it can be
built in only a few steps.
The barebones Shuttle X50 AIO PC, which still offers 1.3 megapixel
webcam, an integrated card reader, Gigabit-LAN, WLAN (Draft-N), stereo
speakers, microphone and a fanless 65 Watt power supply as standard,
will become available in Europe from the end of June with base standard
pricing starting at 361EUR exclusive of taxes.
