Pentax Optio W80 Compact Camera W80 Durable Point & Shoot is a Seriously Tough Cookie

Ultra durable gadgetry has been gaining considerable favour of late and
now Optimax have officially unveiled what they term as their 'most shock
and waterproof digital camera ever' in the corm of the Pentax Optio W80
compact.

Very much a point and shoot offering, the Pentax Optio W80, which comes
in at a mere 1 in thickness, boasts a 12.1 megapixel sensor with 5x
optical zoom lens protected by Super Protect (SP) coating which acts to
repel water, fingerprints and general dirt related smudges ensuring
optimal image quality regardless of what you throw at it.

And, taking of throwing, in terms of the Pentax Optio W80's supreme
durability the camera can withstand drops of up to 3.3 feet as well as
survive a dunking underwater to depths of up to 16 feet (meaning its
also wholly weather resistant - thus being a great compact snapper for
the UK summer). And, as if to underpin its suitability for UK summer
based outings, the Optio W80 can also withstand temperatures down to -10
degrees Celsius which means its also an ideal shooter for winter sports
types looking to capture their friends on the piste (or, when off the
piste, whilst on the…you get the picture).
Pentax Optio W80 Key Features:

12.1 Megapixels for detailed images that can be printed in large sizes.
5X internal optical zoom in a slim 1 inch body is equivalent to 28-140mm.
Wide angle 28mm lens gives an expanded perspective to images, ideal for
indoor, landscape, or group shots.
2.5 inch LCD monitor features anti-reflective coating, making it easy to
view, even in bright sunlight.
Waterproof design withstands depths up to 16 feet (5 meters) to protect
from rain and spills, as well as allowing full underwater photos and video.
Rugged Shockproof design protects against drops of 3.3 feet, ensuring
the camera is protected from hard use and the occasional spills on dry
land.
Coldproof design allows the camera to be used in sub-zero temperatures
of -10 degrees Celsius (14 degrees Fahrenheit), ideal for cold weather
activities such as skiing and snowmobiling.
Widescreen, HD movie capture records resolutions up to 1280×720
pixels at full-speed 30 frames per second.
Fast Face Detection technology sees up to 32 faces in 0.03 seconds, with

condition, without adding high ISO noise. Digital SR and Movie SR are
also available.

smallest subjects as close as 1 cm.
The tough guy Pentax Optio W80, which comes in a host of fashion colors,
is set to ship from next month and will set you back just short of $300.
