Samsung SGH-A837 - also known as the Samsung Rugby - which is the first
cell phone to be offered by AT&T to boast having passed Military
Standard MI-SID-810F in terms of its ability to withstand vibration,
rain, dust, humidity, extreme temperatures and even solar radiation.
Measuring in at a compact 3.95 2.05 0.90' and weighing in at just 4.66
ounces, the 3G Samsung SGH-A837 Rugby comes with raised, textured rubber
casing to ensure grip as well as offer additional protection to the
device and comes with dual screens - the main 2' screen offering
176×220 resolution with 65K colours - an integrated 1.3 megapixel
4x digital zoom camera, built-in MP3 music player (the SGH-A837
incidentally also comes with Napster's mobile subscription service
pre-installed - as well as aGPS working in sync with AT&T's Navigator
service allowing the device to offer driving directions (the service
being free for the first 30 days and priced at just shy of $10 a month
thereafter).
AT&T are offering the 3G Samsung SGH-A837 Rugby for just under $280 on a
no commitment basis or for $180 based on a 2 year contract with the
price falling further to $130 after applying a mail-in rebate.
