Samsung Update MX Series with SC-MX20 Compact YouTube Optimised H.264 Camcorder

Samsung have taken the wraps off their new SC-MX20 compact camcorder,
the latest in their series of MX compact camcorders, which has been
designed to appeal (like so many camcorders these days) to the maturing
YouTube generation in offering H.264 video format support with 640 x 480
resolution capture (though the SC-MX20 will capture video at up to 720 x
480 widescreen resolution) which can subsequently be uploaded to YouTube
without time consuming file conversion being required.
The SC-MX20 is a flash memory based camcorder, utilising SD/SDHC and
MMC+ memory cards for storage and apart from coming with a 680K pixel
CCD sensor also boasts a Schneider lens with a not too shabby 34x
optical zoom as well as Samsung's Advanced Image Stabilization paired
with 3-D Noise Reduction, face detection capable of detecting and
locking onto up to 5 faces and a 2.7' LCD of the standard, flip out variety.

'The SC-MX20 is a camcorder that offers a host of advanced features at
an impressive price point,” said Tony Sorice, Vice President of
Sales and Marketing for Digital Imaging at Samsung Electronics America
who announced the new SC-MX20 . 'Sharing many of the same advanced
features as our higher-end digital camcorders, including the
head-turning design of the SC-HMX20C, the SC-MX20 is sure to stand out
from the crowd of ‘me-too’ camcorders.'

Samsung's new SC-MX20 Compact YouTube optimised camcorder will become
available in August (08) in black, red, blue and white and is expected
to retail for around $280.
