which appears to be a revision of their VX767 PMP that, whilst
aesthetically indistinguishable from its stable mate - which, when a PMP
looks this good, is no bad thing - is billed as offering integrated WiFi
and internet radio capabilities and which may (or may not) also sport
touchscreen functionality.
As can be seen from the specifications provided below, Onda's VX777
certainly ticks all the boxes as far as PMPs go in offering a 4.2' 16:6
widescreen 480 x 272 resolution 260K colour TFT, inbuilt TV-our
connection, built-in speaker and a host of file format compatibility
(sans the much under-rated and under supported OGG format support, alas)
whilst battery life is purported to offer up to 30 hours and 10 hours
for audio and video playback respectively.

Interestingly, the eagle-eyed amongst you will have duly noted that
touchscreen functionality is not detailed in the VX777's specifications
though Onda had hinted that this model - unlike their VX767, on which
this unit is based - would indeed support it. Either this is a striking
omission on Onda's part or we can only assume that touchscreen
capabilities are sadly not to feature on the VX777 either (needless to
say, we sincerely hope that it's the former).
At the time of writing Onda have not released pricing details, however,
they have seen fit to advise that their touchscreen/non-touchscreen
VX777 should become commercially available sometime in August.
