Leaf Unveil AFi 10 56 Megapixel Media Format True Wide Frame Camera System

As far as digital cameras with serious megapixel counts are concerned
the newly announced Leaf AFi 10 Media Format Camera System may not offer
quite the stupendous resolution offered by the previously featured 60
megapixel Phase One P65+ Digital Back but, let's be honest here, the 56
megapixels on offer courtesy of the Leaf AFi 10 can hardly be scoffed
at, especially when you consider that the Ali 10 offers a full 6
megapixels more than even Hasselblad's H3DII-50 Pro DSLR.Offering a true
wide frame (TWF) sensor paired with Leaf's Verto internal sensor
rotation technology - which allows the orientation to flip between
landscape and portrait orientations with the simple press of a button
(avoiding the requirement to angle the camera to switch orientations) -
the Leaf Ali 10 sports a 56 x 36mm CCD offering a staggering 9288 x 6000
effective resolution, resulting in file sizes per image up to 171MB in
RGB TIF 8 bit mode, with light sensitivities of 50-800 (ISO) on
offer.Whilst full specifications are unavailable at the time of writing
there's no doubt that the Leaf Ali 10 is a seriously desirable Pro DSLR
based solely on the (scant) information currently available however, as
you'd expect, the Ali 10 won't come cheap when it's released in the
latter quarter of the year with a purported price tag of around pound
sterling22,000 (circa $43,000 at the time of writing).
