camcorders, namely their new DZ-BD10HA camcorder, which, in being a
three format device, is cable of recording 1920×1080 (1080p HD)
resolution video to not only Blu-ray (specifically Blu-ray mini discs)
but also to an integrated 30GB hard disk drive as well as SDHC memory
cards whilst also allowing footage stored on its internal HDD or SDHC
cards to be subsequently burned directly to mini Blu-ray disks for
archiving without requiring the use of a PC or any additional hardware
with just the single depression of a button.Sporting a seven megapixel
CMOS image sensor, the Hitachi DZ-BD10HA, apart from being capable of
capturing up to 4 hours and 20 minutes of 1080p HD resolution (or 8
hours 40 minutes at 1440×1080 resolution) video footage to its
integrated HDD, can also capture 6.22 megapixel still images which can
be written directly to SD or SDHC memory cards.Other notable features
include face detection technology, O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization)
and a compact, low power consumption, ultra quiet 8cm BD/DVD drive,
which, according to Hitachi's press release ' results in a 20% reduction
in overall volume compared with last year's DZ-BD7HA Blu-ray hybrid
camcorder.'Due to be release next month (September '08), Hitachi's new
Hybrid DZ-BD10HA camcorder will retail at around the $1000 price point.
