Video – DIY AIM-9 Sidewinder Air to Air Missile Lamp For Aviation Geeks

Following on from our extremely popular posts concerning the B-52
Ejector Seat Office Chair and the B-747 Engine Cowling Reception Desk we
simply could not resist offering a quick post concerning this AIM-9
Sidewinder Air to Air Missile Lamp self assembly kit (not least because,
whilst the lamp is pretty cool, the video is truly atrocious).

Billed as being a 'great gift for pilots, aviation enthusiasts, flight
simmers and craftsmen' the AIM-9 Sidewinder Air to Air Missile Lamp from
Roger Dodger Aviation LLC is supplied with all the templates you need to
construct your missile lamp as well as a 38 page full colour illustrated
instruction manual and decals that should help lend a certain
authenticity to your lamp.

In all fairness, though the video is a seriously harrowing affair, we
rather like the idea of having a AIM-9 Sidewinder as a lamp - which,
incidentally, will purportedly set you back between $50 - $60 in
materials - though we suspect that says more about us than the lamp). Th
kit itself retails for around $20.
