Checking Your Document For Cliches

Even the best writers toss the occasional cliche into their writing. Sometimes it's out of laziness; other times we just don't notice. Fortunately, we can tell Word 2000 to notify us when we use a cliche by changing the settings for the grammar checker.
Select Tools, Options and click the Spelling & Grammar tab. Click the Settings button under Grammar and make sure the Cliches button under Style is checked. Click OK, and from that point forward, you won't be able to describe something as "crystal clear" without Word letting you know about it.
