Details on Samsung's new Intel Pine Trail Atom-powered netbook have been
leaked. The Samsung N150 netbook will come equipped with the new Intel
Atom N450. This information comes from two online retailers and the FCC,
which has been good for gadget reveals lately.
This is just the latest Pine T
rail news this week. Since Intel officially revealed the Pine Trail line
on Monday, information on Pine Trail offerings from Dell, MSI, HP and
Fujitsu have been made public (Intel – thanks for keeping Team
TFTS busy on this holiday week). Samsung's Pine Trail entry will come
with the N450 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB HDD, Windows 7, and a 10
screen, which is pretty par for the course as far as netbooks go.
However, three things that could set Samsung's netbook apart are the
inclusion of the Qualcomm Gobi2000 chipset, a GPS receiver, and 3G
connectivity. So, the Samsung N150 could be sold through a cellular
provider and bundled with a 3G contract. No pictures of Samsung's
netbook have been found (pictured is the older Samsung N130 – the
N150 probably won't look much different), although some online retailers
are taking orders with an asking price of $374.
