MSI Wind U150 Netbook Confirmed Along With MSI Wind U210 Runs on Intel's Pine Trail and AMD's Yukon Platform Respectively

MSI have just announced that the recent leaks concerning a 10-inch
convertible touchscreen netbook are real and that the new MSI Wind U150
and the MSI Wind U210 are getting a release date.

Based on Intel's upcoming Pine Trail chipset that will ensure a 20
percent lesser power consumption (keeping those who are environmentally
conscious, happy about the purchase), the new MSI U150 is compatible
with Windows 7 and comes as a direct competitor to ASUS's EeePC T91.
Regarding the exact release date, we're in the dark in here as Intel
haven't released any info concerning the new Atom as well as the Pine
Trail chipset, except for saying it should be out late 2009.

More to it, multitouch fans will be disappointed as the U150 is slated
to include a resistive touchscreen rather than a capacitive one which is
required for multitouch. But considering it was probably done as a
cost-cutting measure (although MSI still hasn't quoted a price tag for
the product) we're waiting for the official announcement before we speak

Except for the U150, the company will also release the MSI Wind U210.
Based on the U200 model and using AMD's Yukon platform the U210 series
will come in two variants. The U210-002 with AMD Athlon Neo NV-40 1.6GHz
CPU, 1GB RAM and a 160GB HDD running Windows XP and priced at $379 and
the U210-010 will have the same CPU, 2GB of RAM and a 250GB HDD running
Windows Vista Premium, with a price tag of $429. Both the U210 series
netbooks are expected to go on sale in the first weeks of September.
