such a phone, not because it s spectacular, because it really isn t
something else, but because it s something totally different than what
Motorola has done over the last few years. The CLIQ is not yet another
RAZR clone set to disappoint the consumers.
The CLIQ is a modern phone and it s running one of the hottest mobile OS
available right now, Google s Android. And it looks like Motorola has
done its job and it has created a phone that fits our current needs. The
CLIQ offers a 3.1-inch HVGA resolution touchscreen, a slide-out full
QWERTY keyboard, a 5-megapixel camera with video recording and auto
focus, Wi-Fi and lots of social networking solutions included in that
custom Motorla UI, MOTOBLUR. So we have a great display, a very useful
camera, a keyboard that will fit well with our messaging needs and a
bunch of services available at one click away. And we definitely have to
be able to check out what our friends are doing and send our own updates
via Twitter, Facebook or MySpace.
T-Mobile, the US official carrier of the first Android phone from
Motorola, has decided to officially announce the pre-order date for the
CLIQ. The phone will be available for pre-sale starting with October 19
so that s when you should have your credit card ready to order. In the
mean time you can register for more info right on T-Mobile s sight. Of
course we ll probably deliver all the news and rumors about Motorola s
Android phone.
What about pricing you say? Well word on the street was that the Android
phone will be available for free if purchased with a new T-Mobile
agreement but we can t confirm any of that at this point in time. Our
best guess is that the price of the CLIQ will be on par with the
competition s prices if not slightly cheaper. And if does prove to be
available for free on a 2-year contract then there s absolutely no point
for you not to get it.
In case that you hate T-Mobile for some reason then your only shot at a
new Motorola Android phone is waiting for Verizon to launch the Sholes
which is another Moto Android phone supposed to arrive soon.
