Panasonic Intros New Blu-ray DVRs Six Models From 320GB to 2TB

When it comes to pushing the envelope in home entertainment there are
few companies that can rival Panasonic. They have managed to stay ahead
of the consumer want curve with their wide array of Blu-Ray players and
high-end high-performance DVRs and this is no small feat in a market
where innovation breeds obsolescence faster than most can stomach. Their
latest round of products is sure to have technophiles drooling and it
features a group of six new DVR Blu-Ray recorders that take storage
limits to the edge.

The latest Panasonic Blu-Ray DVRs will be available in six models. They
will each feature a Blu-ray recorder and the DMR-BR670V model will also
sport a VHS player When it comes to storage options consumers will have
a choice between 320GB, 500GB, 1TB and 2TB. The 2TB model is a world
first in DVR storage capacity. These new video recorders are equipped
with the latest generation of the UniPhier system LSI that integrates
new AV data compression/decompression technology.

The high-end model, the DMR-BW970 (the successor of the DMR-BW930)
enables the user to record up to 320 hours of video in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264
@ 12.9Mbps. The DVR also supports Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD,
DTS-HD, can record on BD-RE / BD-R / DVD-RAM / DVD-R / DVD R DL /
DVD-RW, and of course features HDMI output, SDHC card slot, the VIERA
Link, and is DLNA. No word yet on pricing but it is rumored that they
will be available sometime in September.
